I remember my son’s first day of kindergarten. He was crying and trying to wrestle himself out of his teacher’s arms as I walked away. To him, going to school is like being torn away from his comfort zone, seeing unfamiliar faces in a threatening environment.
Like this, we all have a need to feel safe and comfortable. We experience this in every aspect of our life – when going to new places, meeting new people, or doing new things.
A part of our brain is telling us to be satisfied before learning, working, sleeping or any function can take place. When we step out of our comfort zones, we feel stressed, anxious or strained.
In companies, employees are challenged regularly to meet quotas, gain new skills, learn new equipment or systems, or comply with new standards and policies.
Working close to our comfort zones enables us to perform tasks efficiently. However, the comfort zones are also our mental prisons – restricting our experiences and inhibiting change and growth.
Do you agree that it is important to step out of our comfort zone to grow? Why? Why not?
成長するためには快適ゾーンから抜け出すことが重要であることに同意しますか? どうして? 何故なの?

I agree with the consideration that we need to go out comfort zones for step up. We always stay comfort zones means we are staying present level. For our step up, we have to engage the new things.
