Yet, his kind-hearted nature and desire to be of service to his country and people led him to become a full-time helicopter pilot with the East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA) after his 5-year tenure with the Royal Air Force.
During his time at the EAAA, Prince William worked a four-day-on, four-day-off shift rotation, and although he was paid a salary, he donated his earnings to the EAAA charity.
Although being a pilot certainly sounds exciting, William’s experience was oftentimes difficult. His first call as an EAAA pilot was in response to the suicide of a young man which impacted him profoundly.
As a result, William and his wife, Kate, founded the charity “Heads Together” to combat mental health issue. Yet, with all of the tragedies he has witnessed, the lives he helped save has certainly given William a sense of fulfillment that far exceeds his royal status and title.
Do you think people born into privilege have difficulties with fulfillment?
Ordinary people may be think that people born into privilege are living comfort and elegance. But they have various restricts and there are a lot of difficulties, I think. In such situation, to feel self-fulfillment is really difficult thing for them, I think.
As the article said, I think because Prince William has kind-hearted nature and has desire to be of service to his country and people. And also he has s strong will to help people of his country. By such a consideration, he worked for helicopter pilot of Air Ambulance after his 5-year tenure with Air Force.
Does your country have royalty? How engaged are they with charitable pursuits?
Japan has also royalty. Royalties engage to charitable pursuits positively. They attend to ceremonies of charitable pursuits or visit to every where in Japan for consolation.
As a member of the royal family, William may have felt the need to prove himself as being more than just something he was born into. Have you ever felt or experienced something similar?
Unfortunately, I have never felt or experienced similar kinds of thinking. My family is really normal in Japan, and there was not special different environment around me. But I want to live for others and I want to leave some kinds of legacy or something for the people around me.
What matters is not how many times we fail all successful people like you fail sometimes. The important thing is to learn from the failures. Basically what it means is that failure is part of success. Let’s allow ourselves to fail BIG and learn from our mistakes. Great performance Ko!
