Adventure is something that I’ve always loved. It helps me unravel things through experience. And as a young girl, I always wanted to ride a boat and cross the sea.
I can’t swim, but I always had this unrelenting desire to experience being in the middle of the vast sea.
My wish was grand when my friend and I went on an adventurous journey back in 2013. Our intentions were to take a short boat ride to a small white-sand island called, “Sipaway”, located just 1-kilometer away from the main island of Negros, Philippines.
It wasn’t too hot, so we thought it would be perfect for an escapade. We got in our boat and set sail to cross the sea. Unknowingly, there was a typhoon approaching the area.
When we left the port, the waves were small, but as we got farther out, the waves became bigger. The waves became so big that the boat almost tipped over!
My body froze as feelings of regret instantly rushed into my head. As the boat rocked viciously, I could see flashes of family members crying at my funeral. I thought I was going to die.
I quickly recalled that I wasn’t alone on the boat, I turned to my friends for help. To my surprise, my friends seemed completely unalarmed. I asked them why they could remain so calm, and they told me that those were normal waves.
My takeaway that day was that many of the seemingly impossible problems we face in our lives will just become normal as we experience them and eventually adjust.
Whether it be an emergency at work, an unexpected health issue, or a world wide pandemic, we all have the ability to either overcome it and make i our new normal.

ちょっと簡単な訳にしました。

Is it important to learn how other businesses deal with the problems they face? Why?
他の企業が直面する問題にどのように対処するかを学ぶことは重要ですか? どうして?
重要だと思います。
その対処でうまく行ったことは、参考になるからです。
失敗したケースも、その理由がわかれば参考になると思います。
I think it is very important. Because the things which went well will be reference for us. I think the failure case also will be reference for us if the reason is found.
